There’s something fresh and beautiful about a morning wedding! This lovely ceremony was held on the patio terrace of the Peninsula Club, with a view of the rolling golfcourse and sparkling lake ♥

The bride and groom were looking to create an atmosphere of elegance for their special day, and they chose the perfect music:

Pre-Ceremony Music ~ Here I played mostly classical pieces, but mixed in a few songs that I thought would fit in perfectly: Dawn (from Pride & Prejudice), All I Ask of You (from Phantom of the Opera)

Seating of Grandparents & Mothers ~ Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring (Bach)

Attendant’s Processional ~ Prelude in C (Bach)

Bridal Processional ~ Canon in D (Pachelbel)

Ceremony ~ The Lord’s Prayer (Malotte)

Recessional ~ Gavotte (Grandjany) and “Spring” from the Four Seaons (Vivaldi)

Everything was just perfect for this wedding! Though it had poured rain the night before, the sun came out bright and warm for this springtime, morning ceremony. Given the special place in my heart for historical homes, I thought the surroundings at Beaver Dam were glorious!

This ceremony was slightly different, as it was a Hindu wedding. The bride and groom wanted to blend the traditional Hindu ceremony with music they love, as you can see by the song choices:

Pre-Ceremony Music ~ The bride had a few requests that she thought would keep this time light and upbeat. Can You Feel The Love Tonight (Elton John), Fireflies (Owl City), Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring (Bach) to name a few.

Entrance of the Groom & Parents ~ Pachelbel’s Canon (Pachelbel)

Entrance of the Bride ~ Edelweiss (Rodgers/Hammerstein)

Ceremony Music ~ Since there are quite a few rituals and ceremonies used within a Hindu wedding, I played behind some of them. We Are Man & Wife (Michele Featherstone), Forever & A Day (Jewel).

Recessional~ Ode To Joy (Beethoven)

This wedding was breathtakingly beautiful in every way…the elegant atmosphere of The Victorian Villa Inn, a view of the water and a pristine evening in May! How could anything be more perfect for this happy couple?!

There’s something wonderful about performing in a beautiful setting! The bride and groom chose several classical pieces to match the victorian setting, but they also wanted to incorporate some Irish music into the ceremony, in celebration of their family heritage. (Love it!)

Prelude ~ Here I played several classical songs and mixed in some Irish music as well: Castle of Dromore (Trad. Irish), Give Me Your Hand (Trad. Irish), Bridget Cruise (Turlough O’Carolan)

Seating of Mothers ~ Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring (Bach)

Attendant’s Processional ~ Trumpet Tune (Purcell)

Entrance of the Bride ~ Bridal Chorus from Lohengrin (Wagner)

Sand Ceremony ~ Londonderry Air/O Danny Boy (Traditional Irish)

Recessional ~ “Spring” from the Four Seasons (Vivaldi)

I had a great time today playing at Golden Living Center here in Charlotte! The activities director and staff had done a great job putting together a Grecian-themed party for the residents, which included decorations, food and toga-clad staff 🙂

For this event, I was asked to play mostly classical music (as part of their musical theme), but also some tunes of “yesteryear” that the residents would recognize and enjoy. Some of the titles I chose for the afternoon: Claire de Lune, Edelweiss, Fur Elise, Minuet, and Til There Was You.

What a great afternoon!

Plaza Fiesta of the Carolinas

There’s no better compliment for a musician than to be asked back for a second performance – which is what I did today at Plaza Fiesta of the Carolinas! After playing for a Valentine’s Day event there earlier this year, I was asked to do some music in honor of Mother’s Day. Plaza Fiesta is such a unique location, and I really like playing places where you might not expect to see a harp 🙂 I had a great time playing music and talking with a few visitors who had never seen a harp in person before.

Happy Mother’s Day!!
