charlotte hotel

This wedding really sparkled in the ballroom of the Sheraton Charlotte Hotel! The bride and groom exchanged possibly the most romantic vows ever (written by themselves!) by the light of a crystal chandelier.

The bride and groom envisioned an elegant wedding ceremony, so they selected music that would be a perfect background for the lovely surroundings:

Prelude ~ Here I played mostly classical music

Attendant’s Processional ~ Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring (Bach)

Bride’s Processional ~ Canon in D (Pachelbel)

Lighting of the Unity Candle ~ The Lord’s Prayer (Malotte)

Recessional ~ “Spring” from the Four Seasons (Vivaldi)

Such a charming wedding ceremony was this, held at the breathtaking Morning Glory Farms. The bride and groom said their vows with a field and sparkling water as their backdrop, the bride made her entrance in a horse-drawn carriage ♥

The music chosen was a blend of the traditional with the modern – which always goes together beautifully!

Seating of the grandparents and mothers ~ Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring (Bach)

Attendant’s Processional ~ 1,2,3,4 I Love You (Plain White T’s)

Bride’s Processional ~ Bridal Chorus from Lohengrin (Wagner)

Recessional ~ Smile (Uncle Kracker) and Chapel of Love (Dixie Cups)

mint museum, sustainable energy association

I was pleased to be invited to play this week for the North Carolina Sustainable Energy Association’s “Making Energy Work” reception at the uptown Mint Museum. It was a delightful evening, with an address from a state representative, and an excellent view of the city skyline! I played some background music to top off a great event !

Such a beautiful, fall wedding on the lawn of The Lodge at the Ballantyne Hotel. The bride and groom exchanged the sweetest of handwritten vows, under a flower-draped chuppah.

The bride and groom planned the music for their special day, that worked perfectly to blend the modern with traditional:

Prelude ~ Per the bride’s request I included All I Ask of You (from Phantom of the Opera), Come Away With Me (Norah Jones), When You Say Nothing At All (Alison Krauss), By Your Side (Sade)

Seating of Grandparents & Mothers AND Attendant’s Processional ~ “Air” from Water Music (Handel)

Bridal Entrance ~ Canon in D (Pachelbel)

Recessional ~ Wedding March (Mendelssohn)

Event Coordinated by Signature Events Studio (highly recommend!)

Carmel Country Club – Charlotte, NC

There are really so many ways to use harp music for your wedding, and the ceremony is just the beginning! The rehearsal dinner is a fantastic place to have live music…a little something special for your family and most honored of wedding attendees.

This weekend I did just that – an elegant wedding rehearsal dinner at Carmel Country Club. I played for an hour as the wedding party and guests were enjoying pre-dinner cocktails. A lovely evening!

More ideas: harp music is also a nice addition for a bridal shower, wedding brunch, pre-reception cocktail hour, or bridal breakfast.

Beginning your history together at a location already full of history…I absolutely love this idea! The harp always looks beautiful sitting on the lawn of places like Alexander Homestead, here in Charlotte, NC. A late afternoon, fall day with perfect weather didn’t hurt either ♥

To go along with the Victorian setting, the bride and groom chose music on the traditional side:

Prelude ~ Classical Music

Seating of Grandparents & Mothers ~ “Spring” from the Four Seasons (Vivaldi)

Entrance of the Bride ~ Canon in D (Pachelbel)

Sand Ceremony ~ The Lord’s Prayer (Malotte)

Recessional ~ Wedding March (Mendelssohn)

Postlude ~ Ode to Joy (Beethoven)

Following the ceremony I also played background music for the cocktail hour.

brakefield, wishing lanterns

This wedding was held in the courtyard of an elegant and brand new venue, Brakefield at Riverwalk. Overlooking the wooded edge of the river, I thought the ceremony was lovely, despite a few dark clouds (and possible tornado!).

There are lots of different symbolic ceremonies to choose from when planning a wedding – unity candle, sand ceremony, unity cross – but I loved the ruby red Wishing Lantern that the bride and groom sent into the sky after saying their vows.

Here is the music that was chosen for the big day:

Seating of Grandparents and Mothers ~ River Flows in You (Yiruma)

Attendant’s Processional ~ Bless the Broken Road (Rascal Flatts)

Bridal Processional ~ When You Say Nothing At All (Alison Krauss)

Wishing Lantern Ceremony ~ At Last I See The Light (from “Tangled”)

Recessional ~ Lost In This Moment (Big and Rich)
