Livingstone College

It was an honor to be invited for a second time to play for Livingstone College Queens Coronation Ceremony! The college auditorium was decked out for the event, and excitement was high as students and staff were getting ready backstage. An annual event held during homecoming week each year, honored students are selected to be crowned queen and king for the school year.

For my part in the program, I played a prelude while everyone found their seats in the auditorium. Then during the program, it was requested that I play “Angel” by Sarah McLachlan.

Beautiful evening!

The Great Aunt Stella Center

Aunt Stella Ctr 10.26.13
This beautiful ceremony was made all the more lovely by its stately setting in the Great Aunt Stella Center in uptown Charlotte! Fabulous stained glass windows and a regal pipe organ add to the charm, and the soaring ceiling lends itself to some amazing acoustics!

Since the venue has the air of a traditional wedding, the music went along perfectly with the setting:
Seating of Grandparents & Mothers – Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring
Bridesmaid’s Entrance – Trumpet Voluntary
Bride’s Entrance – Bridal March
Recessional – Traditional March

Hickory NC, Shuford House and Garden

Shuford Gardens 2 10.19.13
Beautiful wedding ceremony at Shuford House and Garden! Being that I am completely smitten by historic homes, playing some harp music in a gazebo and garden originating in the early 1900’s made my night!

The happy couple said their vows under a pretty gazebo overlooking a flower-lined fountain. I absolutely loved their song choices, which made this all the more fun for me!
Prelude ~ Classical wedding favorites: Arioso, Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring, Minuet
Attendant’s Processional ~ I’ll Be (Edwin McCain)
Bride’s Processional ~ Somewhere Over the Rainbow
Sand Ceremony ~ I’ll Stand By You (as performed by Carrie Underwood)
Recessional ~ I Won’t Give Up (Jason Mraz)

Romance is definitely in the air at Morning Glory Farm! This is a positively fabulous venue, nestled among the trees and farmland in Monroe, NC. I love the rustic yet elegant feel!!

Autumn is such a reverent time of year, and the bride chose music that perfectly reflected this reverence:
Seating of Grandparents & Mothers ~ Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring
Attendant’s Processional ~ Canon in D
Bride’s Processional ~ Ave Maria (Schubert)
Ceremony ~ The Lord’s Prayer
Recessional ~ Sleeping Beauty Waltz

Lake Wylie

Lake Wylie 3 10.12.13

Such a beautiful setting for this intimate wedding ceremony! Held at a private rental home, the bride and groom were positively giddy as they said their vows overlooking Lake Wylie.

The bride’s love for classical music made her song choices so personal, which I love!
Prelude ~ Mix of classical and modern music
Seating of Mothers ~ Clair de Lune
Bridesmaids’ Processional ~ Arioso
Bridal Entrance ~ Prelude in C
Sand Ceremony ~ The Swan
Recessional ~ Canon in D

FFTC 3 10.5.13

A simply breathtaking wedding held in the art gallery at Foundation for the Carolinas in uptown Charlotte! The ceremony was gorgeous, with special lighting to enhance the art and sculpture – very classy!

Prelude ~ Classical and elegant favorites

Seating of Mothers & Grandparents ~ Meditation from Thais

Bridesmaids’ Processional ~ “Dawn” from Pride & Prejudice

Bridal Entrance ~ Canon in D (Pachelbel)

Unity Candle ~ The Swan (Saint Saens)

Recessional ~ Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring

After the ceremony, I moved to the larger gallery for the cocktail hour! The bride and groom wanted music that was glamorous and tied in with their love of The Big Apple, so they requested that I play modern love songs, and include Empire State of Mind (Alicia Keys) and Ny, NY (Frank Sinatra).
